Thrift Store Assistant
Thrift Store Assistants support the daily operations of the charity’s thrift store by assisting with inventory management, customer service, and donation processing. This role helps ensure the store runs smoothly, contributes to a positive shopping experience for customers, and supports the mission of the organization through the sale of donated goods.
Key Activities:
Donation Processing: Receive, sort, and categorize donated items, ensuring they are clean, in good condition, and appropriately priced for resale.
Customer Service: Assist customers with inquiries, provide product recommendations, and ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the store.
Merchandising: Organize and display merchandise on shelves, racks, and in store windows to create an attractive shopping environment and encourage sales.
Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle cash or credit payments accurately.
Stock Organization: Maintain inventory in the store, restock shelves, and keep the store organized and tidy throughout the day.
Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
